About me
Sports, Social Issues and Equality Journalist
My name is Gabby Alfveby, and I am originally from Connecticut. I graduated from Flagler College with a Bachelor of Arts in Digital Media Production and Journalism; Magna cum laude. During my time at college, I served as the head editor of my school's student publication, The Gargoyle.
In the past, I served as a freelance journalist for Gannett-owned papers The Florida Times Union and The Record. I have experience writing about sports, inequalities, and entertainment. In college, I was an intern writer for Narrow Magazine, where I wrote entertainment-style pieces.
I now serve as the Connecticut Sun beat reporter and social media coordinator for The IX Sports. I have a love for sports and writing about them, particularly women's sports. My passion for women's sports first developed when I started playing basketball and saw how underreported and underrated they were. I love giving people voices and telling stories of women in sports and the fight for equality.
